The medal design competition has now been closed for new entries. Please do not send any further submissions. Many thanks to all those who sent in their designs; the judging of so many quality entries shall take some time. We will announce the winner as soon as possible and get in touch with all those necessary.
The winning design will be struck into five four-inch circular medals in precious metal by Alexander Kirkwood & Son, a 190 year old Scottish family business and Scotland’s sole surviving medallist. Representatives of The Badminton World Federation, Glasgow City Council, EventScotland, UK Sport and title sponsors, TOTAL, will receive an original medal. All players, delegates, officials and event volunteers will receive a replica medal.
History was made on finals day at the TOTAL BWF World Championships as Viktor Axelsen became the first European player to win men’s singles gold in 20 years.
