There are two categories of media accreditation for the TOTAL BWF World Championships: media journalist and media photographer. Priority will be given to applicants who have a valid AIPS or National Sports Journalist Association membership number and all applicants must provide the name of the publication and contact details of their commissioning editor to which they will provide material. This also applies to freelance journalists and photographers.
Please note, it may be necessary to limit the number of applications from each organisation and this is at the discretion of the event organisers. Applicants should NOT pay for flights and accommodation until they have received confirmation that their request for media accreditation has been approved. We cannot be held responsible in the event of an applicant not being approved after such payments have been made.
Access to the field of play is available to photographers. This will be managed by the Photo Manager and field of play access bibs must be worn by photographers and will be distributed at the Media Centre by the Photo Manager. The Photo Manager will provide daily briefings on photo positions on the various courts and advise of any changes when the court configuration changes. Access to the field of play will be restricted and limited each day; however the Photo Manager will schedule photographers’ access in an equitable manner.
Journalists will have access to the Media Tribune and this will be managed by the Media Tribune Manager. In general this will be freely available to journalists; however at particularly busy periods the Media Tribune Manager may timetable access rights to journalists.
Access to the Mixed Zone and to the Press Conference Room will be controlled by the respective managers from the media team.
